I'm looking for social events, activities, social clubs, organizations in Atlanta for active 50+ adults. Not "senior" activities like arts & crafts and Bingo please! No Senior Centers please!

I'm from Marietta right outside of Atlanta. Buckhead is a nice place and has lots going on ( shops and places to eat ). The Atlanta aquarium would be a nice stop, there is also the Coca Cola factory which you take a tour and taste test Coke from all over the world. Center for puppetry arts has some great stuff usually going on.There is Kennesaw Battle field, and you do not want to skip Stone Mountain park. Stone Mountain is beautiful and if you are going around the holidays they have great stuff going on. Marietta square is a nice place to shop and eat and it has beautiful older homes and would not be as pricey as Buckhead and areas around Atlanta. If you are going Mall shopping I would go to Town Center Mall in Marietta...a really nice mall and compared to some of the others not as expensive ( some are very high priced stores ) . Make sure like southern comfort said to pick up a creative loafing magazine...they have all the going ons...Welcome and I hope you enjoy yourself.Opps " The Varsity" for a hotdog...it has been around forever and many celebs have been there...you see autographs.

I'm not from the area, but i know where i live they post stuff like that in the paper, I'm sure in Atlanta there are papers with plenty of events and gatherings to be a part of. Start with the local paper...if nothings there, then try searching the Internet for Atlanta organizations and social clubs, good luck

Tons of things all over the area. Depends a good bit on what side of town you are on as to the nearest things for you ro participate will be located. North? Buckhead? West End? Towards Marietta and the Galleria? Southside near the airport? Look for a Creative Loafer free magazine in libraries, lots of restaurants or bookstores. PWP Parents without Partners usually have dances and get together on all sides of town and there not for just kids. People with adult chlidren attend also. With MARTA and 285 you have access to hundreds of fun things. Keep looking and you'll find yourself in a regular whirlwind of activity.

Assume it's still there, Johnny's Hideaway, a dance club out Roswell Road from Buckhead, mostly seniors there. Its trademark is being known for hearing Frank Sinatra.

Dance the night away - There are enough places to do that in the Atlanta area. Have fun!
