Sweet Pea......
I have to tell you something....I am a country girl and I know for a fact you would have to be made of effin steel to let a possum bite you......Those teeth are not so little and sharper than a razor blade....Next time use Your famous NYC sewer 'gator and I may believe you!!!!
Peace.

YES I DO!!! Two kids pushed out the way God intended plus stitches, in which the lidocane kept wearing off, and the only time I cried, for that, was the first time I heard my kids cry.
8 tattoos
9 holes total in my ears
pierced my nose myself a couple times
have had my tongue pierced on two separate occasions(first time, the hole closed up)
And waddya know. I'm a New Yorker, too. Not from NYC, but Rochester is still a pretty big city in NY.
and nothing more inconvenient than bitey possums.

I am moderate but I can grit my teeth and get by if I need to
On a campiing trip last summer my finger started hurting and my hand swelled up, but after a few days it got better so I didnt worry about it.
Except it didnt get entirely better, just sort of in between better and not better.
When i finally went to the doc a month later he said "no wonder it's been hurting, you broke it"
My fishing buddy had a fishhook go into his thumb and lay the flesh open clear to the palm, looked hideous.
He didnt stop fishing, we were on a 5 day trip to Canada, every morning we would superglue the edges down, slather it with neosporin and wrap it up.
I couldnta dun it, but he's a true fisherman. LOL

I had a similar experience
A lady got on the bus, and I sustained the pain of hearing the
story about her meds, and how she was going to
live with her daughter, get back on her meds,
nevermind the fact she was talking so loud, a blind
man would think she had a megaphone, and I think
I endured what was equivalent to a 50 lb dumbell when she
sat down beside me
what a morning

Yes I do, I tore a piece of my bone on my knee and pulled and couldnt even walk it hurt alot but I went a day before i went to the doctors, I have broken my thumb, my wrists more than onces, broken my fingers, broken the top of my foot etc... but I have always been able to handle the pain the worst pain was my knee!!! But it was funny because my mother hurt her finger and it was just swollen and she got so sick to her stomach just because of the pain, so I would say I have a high tolerence for pain, I have never gotten sick over the pain I have had.

Yes, I'm pretty used to that sort of thing happening on the train here in Chicago. Why, just last week I was sitting down reading the Red Eye and a elephant walked by and stepped on my foot. Didn't say excuse me or anything. I didn't say anything for fear that it would hit me with it's trunk. Those elephants are mean around the holidays.

NY-ers are the best at pretending to be above small inconveniences - especially while on mass transit.
Last week my friends and I tried to get some homeward bound commuters to sing Christmas carols with us, but remarkably they were all "asleep". All except the one man who couldn't stand us singing one carol with the wrong words any longer and 'woke up' long enough to impart to us the correct words.

I live in MD right now, but lived in upstate NY for 22 years. This one time I was swimming in the Potomac and a Maryland Blue Crab latched onto my left testicle, and I let him stay there for 2 hours because I didn't want my friends to think I was a wuss.

Um good for you...Yes, I have a high pain threshold. I was in a motorbike accident in September and was in hardly any pain when I came round from having my skull rebuilt and (massive) pieces of plastic sewn into my abdomen to hold everything together...I was off morphine within a day and it was all fine.

yes I have a high thresh hold for pain
My doctor has told me numerous times that what I deal with on a daily basis would have lesser people crying for pain meds.
I have always had a high tolerance for pain.
