My theory coincides with the idea of the big bang. I say this based on what the Hubble Space telescope has provided us. The HST has given us new light on the expansion of the universe from a singularity point. So, in reference, I believe in the idea of the accretion disk. Basically, a molecular cloud starts spinning and collects gas and dust to form our sun and thus develops our planets based on the same principle. To be more specific, small rocks formed bigger rocks, that ultimately collected enough mass to accumulate a spherical mass that gave birth to an atmosphere due to escaping gases and so forth. After many years, amino acids developed life through evolutionay processes. Furtheron, this evolutionary process gave us the human element.
As far as the ending of the world, I would go as far as saying our demise will be result of our own mistakes.
If we don't kill ourselves off by our own hands, then I would either bet on a polar shift or the andromeda galaxy collision in about 3 billion years. The red giant phase is in roughly 4.5 billion, which could possibly happen in the andromeda galaxy instead of the milky way. BUT, the chances are about 1% that this will occur.
I'm hesitate with the meteor theory, because with the advancement in technology, show with the deep impact mission, we can deflect or set a NEO or Near Earth Object off it's path. BUT, it's very possible a NEO could hit us unexpectingly.

Except for the Einsteins among us, no single person comes up with a "theory" of how anything works. A single person comes up with a hypothesis or a guess. Scientific theories today, especially something a complex as the beginning and end of the universe and our planet, require libraries full of observational data, decades of synthesis and testing, predictions and verifications. By the time "scientists" come up with a theory today, it has been heavily tested by themselves and their peers and has been determined to be the most likely fit to explain all the known facts and observations. Though it may need some refinement, based upon continuing math, testing, or observation, most theories we currently have are more than likely far along the correct track. Stating that "sometimes scientists theories might not be accurate" without specifying which theory and the reasons you feel that they are not accurate, denigrates the effort that all those scientists have put into formulating that "theory", even if it is still in need of a paint job. As for the begiinning and ending of our planet, there are NOT "so many ways or theories to it." There is one primary theory that is probably correct, along with a number of corollaries and appendices which attempt to refine the whens and hows. There are a lot of crackpot ideas floating around, but they do not merit the term "theory", since they lack observation and experimentation and make up for it with imagination.

I say if the word and the universe started with the big bang how would we know for sure we wernt around when it happend. Also all this about god creating the world is bull who is god and how can a fictional man make 2 people from clay i mean come on. The will die soon enough and by that time will be livng on the moon or mars theres so many theroies to what will happen whn the earth finally dies some say the moon will hit us as its slowley moving towards us some say theres an astroid in our path personally if we keep doing what we doing to our atmosphere were all going to burn to death by the sun im not a envriomental freek or anything it just my piont which makes me wonder why we bother having childeren to produce children if we are to be wiped out. (just a thought) Who knows for sure what will happen anything is possible. All i say if im alive when or if it happens which i doubt it better not hurt me.

Hi. I think the mechanism is well understood (in theory). The strange part is how such a large, close Moon formed. This is really important if life did develop in the ocean and was forced by being trapped in tidal pools to adapt. Other wise the best we could hope for would be smart fish.

As far as how it will end... the sun will ultimately begin to die and will expand, swallowing the earth and incinerating it.
