there is no point if a new xbox is coming out. is there and if there is should i buy the 360 or wait

you nerd xbox 360 will be around for another 5 or 6 years before a new one comes out. just buy it.

since the 360 has only been out just over a year it would be suicide to announce that a new Xbox will come out unless its like the elete and is part of the 360 range. By releasing a completly new Xbox so soon it pretty much says they failed with the 360.
I think you'll be waiting at least 3 years for that.

It is rumored that Bill Gates will be announcing a collaborative effort between Toshiba and xbox so toshiba will create an hddvd computer entertainment center much like the ps3 except it will have 360 game play capability. THis is supposed to be announced in Jan. around the 15th. Will this be the next 360 who knows but it will open the door to game producers to start programming for HDDVD 25 gig discs which will at least give them some competitvness with the PS3s 50 gig blueray game disc capability. Most ps3 exclusives are over 25 gig on the blueray disc as it is.
Msnbc has an article as well as other places including the australian newspaper that broke the elite story.

They move "versions" in and out. The latest is the "Arcade" - don't get it.
As to any big new leaps in console technology that would be the next incarnation of the xbox - there are none on the horizon.
As to which one you get, the Elite has more memory (120 GB hard drive) and is black. If you don't need the to download lots of movies and crap to your xbox, the Pro (aka Premium) with its 20 GB hard drive should take care of your needs. Either of them manufactured after about September 2007 will use the new processor that Microsoft started using. It's supposed to be cooler, use less power, and be more reliable.

No. Just buy the Xbox360 Elite version so that you have the latest one.
