If i get a $8,000 or $10,000 Bank check could i get it cashed at a money mart in a different state? I live in Phillipsburg and I am selling my car and the company will give me a Banker check for the car for the amount between $8000-$10000. I do not have a bank account so i couldnt just deposit it and I need the cash asap (for christmas) and I want to know if a money-mart will take the bankers check and give me the cash right then and there. Please Help answer quick! Thank you

Do you know anybody with a bank account? You could have the check made out to them (or even sign it over to them) and have them pay for the stuff you want to buy with their checks. Carrying that much cash (even for a short distance) is a terrible idea. If you're going to do it, you should seriously talk to a cop about a police escort.

A Money Mart will cheat you out of quite a bit of your money? I bet they'll charge you $500.You could prolly sell your car for lots more if you sell it to an individual. You might even find someone willing to give you cash. That company buying your car has to keep the price cheap. They need to make money when they resell it.

probably. but you'll lose a lot in the fees. Do you have a credit card? If you do, then go ahead and open a bank account and deposit that check. Use the credit card for Christmas (watch how much you spend!). Then when the cash clears into your account, you can withdraw it.

Might be time to get a bank account. Do you really want to walk around with $10,000 in cash??

here what you do -- when the dealer gives you the check you take it to his bank and they will cash it turn around and buy a cashier check from that bank for x dollars keepin out what you want to spend for xmass and when you get to the next place you open up the checking accountwith the cashier's check!!!
