i wanna go to study to usa but i don't think i can afford it...so i wonder if i can go to a public college or uni and if they are good?

Many of them are. Unfortunately the best ones are expensive and close the private colleges in fees.

While a university like SUNY may only cost you about $25,000 a year including room and board most of the UC campuses will charge closer to $45K including room and board.

You can, and there is a huge range of public universities, from extremely good to very poor. The problem is that as an international student you would be paying out-of-state tuition, which is often as expensive as that at a private school.

There are thousands of them, and they range from wonderful to poor. The public universities of California rival the best private universities. The public universities of Texas, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Arizona and some other states are also very good. The schools in the south tend not to be as strong.
