I'm not that familiar with the film industry in the UK, but living in Los Angeles, I would assume that there are similarities between the industries in our two countries. That would mean that you need not only to learn skills, but to meet people who can get you into the industry. My guess would be that in the U.K. that means you would do best to go to school in London, so you could look up the schools there on their websites to see if they offer the right course for you. Once you have found that, contact them to find out if you could speak to a few of their graduates in the industry. Talk to them, and ask them if they were to have graduated from a school other than the one which they attended, where would they have gone. You should soon find a consensus about which schools are respected within the business.

A good friend of mine graduated from there w/ the focus in audio... he's doing fine, as far as I know. He told me, "It's who you know." So, I guess if you're there, make as many friends and "hook-ups" as you can because in that business of entertainment, is IS who you know because that field is in such of a demand by a lot of people. Not just anyone can get the best job. And you have to be really good at what you do. Look at Spielberg, for example! Good luck and I hope you don't get out there on the field and end up working a camera for a news station!
