He shouldn't have looked at it in the first place.
You did nothing wrong, he did something he wasn't supposed to do.

I'm sorry but if a kid said that to me I would feel so owned I would punish him too hahaha that is hilarious! But in all seriousness you're right that parents shouldn't have to punish kids simply for getting in trouble at school. They should hear their child's side of the story and decide on their own. I remember getting in trouble for a fight at school when I was like 12. I was in huge trouble until I told my mom why I fought. The kid said "I hope your dad dies!" And at the time my dad was deployed in Iraq. I still got lectured but didn't get punished even though the school suspended me my mom understood. Also, the rule is pretty ambiguous and subjective. How do you decide what's "rude?"

It does make sense. It's why the don't let kids see rated R movies; to try to shield them from knowing about certain things. To be honest, nobody should ever be telling anyone about it, lol.

PS- Did you really think he wasn't going to look?

that is weird

i mean you said NOT to look at it, and he's 14 not 10, surely he's gonna be aware, at least in an abstract way, of that kind of thing existing.

I think his family are being completly unreasonable.

I think you shouldn't have told your nephew about it in the first place.

Well, I guess you shouldn't have brought it up in the first place. I saw it, it's quite nasty.

yeah because it's disgusting and people shouldn't talk about it, but he is old enough that he shouldn't be a tattletale.
