I've been on the pill for almost a year now, and I want to change my start date (I'm currently starting on Sunday, and I want to change that to Friday). How do I do it? When I finish a pack on the last Saturday (let's say the 22nd of December), do I just start the next pack on the following Friday (the 28th of December)? Thanks :)

Do I need to use a backup method of birth control during this time?

Thanks Terri! I should have specified that I am on a 21-day pack.

yes, you can change your time when you want taking a pill. Make sure, take it in exact same time each day. If I were you to check your doctor before you want to change the time for you to taking a pill.

I'd discuss this with the doctor FIRST.

What pill are you on?

IMO I'd really talk to the doctor, but you could take it around your placebo week (fourth week)...

If the last pack ends on 22 Dec, and the last week is placebos, on that Friday don't take the placebo, but take the first pill of the next pack. Then on Sat don't take the placebo, just continue on with the pack.

IMO this way you wouldn't have to use extra protection (though you should always use condoms anyway).
