Where's the poem? You better ask Mom.

I think that neither is better. They are both very different. I would also not use only Yahoo!

When you use Yahoo! you are only contacting people who use a computer and who use Yahoo Answers. This sounds stupid, but it means that only certain KINDS of people who want to play here will answer your question. Not many of these people are serious about anything they say on internet - unless they're angry about something...

Your mom and Yahoo answsers are simply different. You should ask both, think about it, and if you have any interesting ideas then you can ask your mom about this.

People develop by seeing new ideas, and try to think about answers which maybe they don't like. Is it ok to have sex with my boyfriend when I am 15 years old? - I think perhaps your mom says NOOOO... I hope she would explain more about why she says NO. Perhaps you don't want to listen to her!

Then you can get other ideas from Yahoo answers. But you must also know that people here often play bad games, and tell lies, or just give stupid answers for fun... so you have to think. I think that most of the time you already know what is best, and when you ask for advice you are mostly looking to see How many people agree with you. Is this right?

Depends on the topic. If you want to ask a question about whether your poetry is good, you might be better off avoiding Mom and Yahoo Answers, and attending a writer's workshop or creative writing class instead.

It depends what you're asking. With regards to whether or not your poem is good, Yahoo Answers would be better since the people on it are not biased like your mum is ("Your poem is wonderful, dear!")...

However, it's important to realize that many of the people who review poems on Yahoo Answers are not professionals. In fact, many of them will review your poem without even really reading it ("I luved ur poem its grate!").

It's best to only consider the Answers on this page that actually review your poetry on a whole and make an educated assessment.

ask yahoo answers. It is unbiased when you get a complete view of what people think. My conviction and philosophy is that you should have the "courage to use your own understanding". (its a kant philosophy, read his essay on elightenment, on wikipedia)

The truth is she can be right or others can be right. According to Kant one should not be afraid of his own understanding. If you are sure or confident she is wrong and you are right try repeating a few times your position on an issue. Eventually if you have real evidence and sources for your view (and you can get this on yahoo answers) you can prove you are right.

No one needs to be coerced. If you are right you are right.

A mother has wisdom and experience, they will tell you that. However one should not be dogmatic about a view and a mother should understand this.

It is normal (a norm) to respect your mother and not disrespect. But you need not fear or be coerced on a view. You can benefit yourself from the input of this website and enlighten yourself on issues.

My conviction is it is good to think and understand.

Smiles...A vaild question.

When I was young Q&A didn't exist, so I asked my Grandmother if she thought I'd be able to fly, if I jumped off the barn roof. I suspect you might guess her answer.

Had I asked the same Q here, I would likely get "YES!" answers in abundance, even if facetiously; BUT still I would have attempted it now, as I did then.
