There is no place in Ohio that someone the age of 14 can have hands on contact with a tiger. All the zoos in ohio do take volunteers your age and they can have hands on contact with smaller animal that education programs use but no tigers.

The keepers in Ohio do not even have hands on contact with the tigers, all the zoos have what is called protective contact. They might scratch a side through a fence, but that is about it.

You can work as a seasonal keeper at age 18. The problem at your age is that you are still a minor. If you really want to work with them when you get older, start to volunteer now then when are are old enough switch to a paid seasonal position.

Probably no where, especially if all you want to do is pet a tiger.

Most people who either work or volunteer with wild animals know that petting is not an option unless you want a short life expentancy and an even shorter job expectancy. You obviously don't have the necessary maturity or ability to put the animals needs ahead of your desires. I supervised volunteers at a major aquarium and I would politely tell your parents that with your attitude your too much of a risk and will more likely endanger an animal and yourself as opposed to helping us care for it.

There are child safety laws that you would have to check into. I don't know about Ohio, but when I lived in NJ and volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation center, we could not allow any children to handle the animals...and we didn't have anything nearly as dangerous as tigers!

Even if the law allows it, the insurance company that insures the place with the tigers might not allow it for liability reasons.

LOL! I totally agree with Glorie. There's no freaking way anyone is going to trust someone 14 years old to handle a wild animal.

The only way I could see that happening is if you had grown up in the wilderness like Eliza Thornberry (and don't act like you don't know who that is -- I KNOW you're a teeny bopper that watches Nickolodean and Disney Channel...just like my five-year-old daughter. HA!).

Why don't you have Mommy buy you a tigger stuffed animal and pretend you're feeding it and petting it. That sounds like tons of fun!

Many States have a Great Cats refuge center, for situations when people purchase "kittens", but cannot handle them when they are full grown. I would suggest you do a googlefor places like these. I am a youth pastor and I know some of the kids in my youth group voluneer and spend a lot of time working with Lions,Tigers, etc..

You won't be able to work with tigers until at least age 18. And even then if you volunteer somewhere with wild animals, it is very unlikely that you will be able to start off working with the tigers. They will start you off with something small and safe.

Don't quit your day job. Actually at fourteen, your only job is to do your homework and watch Hannah Montana or whatever other tween crap they show on the Disney Channel. I highly doubt you have the maturity to handle working with tigers. Heck, I wouldn't trust you with my cat. Sorry sweetie.
