YES they have!

As we know, CALF MUSCLES are the muscles at the back of the lower human leg which include GASTROCNEMIUS and the SOLEUS connecting down to Achilles tendon .

In cows, they do have at the back of their legs as well, with the gastrocnemius muscle located just behind the STIFLE JOINT.It is the part commonly proned to muscle tear and injury. Just like with the humans and other animals, the SOLEUS MUSCLE is as well important to cows for standing, walking, and running.

The name "calf muscles" is taken from a muscle which is found in the legs of calves so it is obvious that cows have calf muscles but they are very thin compared to a man's calf muscles. Their calf muscles are also stronger than that of a human's.

The caudal muscle of the crus (calf) in the cow are, in no particular order:
gastrocnemius
soleus
flexor digitorum superficialis
flexor digiti 1 (hallucis) longus
flexor digitorum longus
tibialis caudalis
(flexor digitorum profundus- above 3 combined)
popliteus

( well you did ask!!)
And the word 'calf' comes from the Anglo Saxon -'to bunch up'. Which I guess both the animal and the muscles do.

Cows do have calf muscular tissues precise from the time they have been born (i.e. even while a being calf) till loss of life. Calves have calf muscular tissues while they are calves. and that they proceed to be as calf muscular tissues even while they develop into cows/bulls. they don't develop into COW/BULL muscular tissues.
