some of their views are frankly very disturbing.

I didnt say I had anything against the USA.
just this particular type of person, and in particular their views on parenting. this q is inspired by a couple of questions I just saw.

by religious right i meant religious conservative. i know there are plenty of sensible liberal-minded americans who would agree with me, so this is not an american-bashing thing here.

melanie T, i have begun reading the handmaids tale recently actually in english literatue at college. a very disturbing book , and possibly somewhat prophetic, yeah.

constantly. they seem unaware that so much of what they spout is opinion. they seem to actually believe they are parroting back facts, as if they don't comprehend the meaning of the word "faith".
it puts a knot in my stomach. especially the widespread assumption that you can't be a "good person" if you're not Christian. this is very disturbing. shades of The Handmaid's Tale, anyone?

No, I do not. In the United States we have the freedom to express our religious views. And there really are not many people doing so on Yahoo Answers.
