Been there - I had a rotten wisdom tooth while I was pregnant and had to get it pulled.
What worked for me was ibuprophine and a warm compress - you pour about 2 cups of uncooked white rice into a clean gym sock and tie the end shut, then you microwave the sock with the rice in it for about 30 to 45 seconds (depending upon how powerful your microwave is). The rice stays warm much longer than a warm wet washcloth does, and it molds perfectly to fit the contour of your jaw. The ibuprophine eases pain and reduces inflammation, and a regular dose is not harmful to the baby, and the heat increases circulation to the area to speed healing.

Well hun, you have a couple of options. First you need to ask your OB what is safe for you to take; the dentist will know if you have updated your med history and all of the pregnancy information is listed. They will NOT recommend ibuprofen. Aside from regular Tylenol, they may give you Tylenol with codeine, or a very low dose of percocet. Just make sure to ice the area, try a bit of orajel and rinse with warm salt water. You didn't list if the tooth was abscessed, if it was, you may need an antibiotic. Hope this helps hun and congrats!

I'm not pregnant and I don't have a toothache, but, what does one have to do with the other???
It's not unusual to have pain a few days after a tooth extraction. It'll go away on its own (you didn't say that it's bleeding or anything like that, so it doesn't sound like a medical problem). Naturally, you shouldn't overdo any medication while pregnant. You'd be better off asking your pharmacist or ob/gyn for suggestions about over-the-counter pain remedies.

i agree with dreamer get the baby teething gel, i used that when my wisdom teeth came through and it helped allot, clove oil is also good and numbs your whole mouth but it taste's horrid and can make you feel very sick.
Look out for baby teething gel with a anesthetic in it because this will numb your gum.
Good Luck!
