People can have very loving, very solid relationships even if they aren't married. But the reason why he won't marry you is important, and you haven't included it in your question.

First of all you have been with this man for seven years and have a child together right, He does not want to marry you if he can have all the enjoyment of not being married why should he marry you. It seems like to me that you have his attention he just does not want to commit to you. He may be even scared to comit.

He won't marry you because he's basically getting everything he needs now. If that's something that you want you'll need to make it clear that you won't hang around unless he marries you, but since you have a daughter think long and hard before you make any ultimatums (as you'll have to follow through). Maybe if you actually leave that could be the push he needs, but he also might not care, so prepare for both scenarios.

Not marrying you But are you living together?
Marriage is not a real requirement then. However if you have a child to this man and he has not committed in any way other than dating you then leave. Then he is just a waste of time

Chances are that if you have been with him for 7 years he is not going to marry you. You need to sit down and talk to him. If he has no intentions on marring you then you have to decide what you want. Can you be happy going on the way things are. If not then you need to move on. The choice is totally up to you.

Leave, file for child support and depending on the state you live in you might be considered his common law wife. 7 years is the requirement for such. You might be able to file for divorce even.
Get a lawyer to answer that question.

I believe he will never marry you as long as he gets what he wants without the responsibilities of a married man..
You've got to stop having sex with him. Stop all physical contact until he decides what's important to him.

Maybe he is just scared of marriage. Especially if this arrangment is working. If you need to be married, then maybe this isn't the guy for you. You can't talk him into it, he has to want to.
