Well, we've spent about $300.00 total on Christmas with most of that being on our children.. We used coupons and shopped some good online specials. For our family members we bought gift cards OR gift certificates to restuarants/stores... We don't use credit cards, we've gone completely cash... So, we've NOT buying as much... We also shop around EARLY and go to the outlet mall... I also work part-time at Kohl's dept. store where we have a really nice employee discount.
Here's an example of some of the specials. On leapfrog.com they had myfirst leap pad books on sale 70% off so I got 8 books/cartriges for around $30 ! In the stores each book/cartridge is around $12-$15 !
I also shopped on Amazon.com and got my kids an Elmo potty training doll that talks and has it's own potty/sippy cup AND a book for $29.00... The toy w/o the book IF you can find it in the store is $40... I also got FREE shipping which saved $10 so I basically got the book for free !
So, I think we did really well on the kids things and for the adults we just got them a little something to open...
Have a happy holiday...

I don't set a budget as much as a limit for each person depending on the relation for ex:
My daughter (1 yr) No limit but everything she needs spent $40 this year
Husband (22) $100 Spent about $70
Aunts and Uncles $10 per family (gifts in a jar dinner/dessret) spent $30 made 6 desserts and 5 soups plus had food left over ( ireally only needed 3 of each)
Grandparents ($20 each) Gram $24 and Pap $10
Sister (18) did not purchase yet but would like to stay under $50

Our budget consists on what we saved during the year. Each month we put aside money for Christmas. We don't spend a lot on presents ($400/17 people) since each Christmas we fly from California to Colorado or Pittsburge (family of 4).
Before I got married my best friend and I would buy each other an expensive present ($500-$1000). We knew each other pretty good so it was never a disappointment in what we got.

too plenty. I spent approximately $a thousand on Christmas, entire. This consists of presents for 11 human beings, Christmas nutrition products (cookies, candy, assets you does no longer purchase different than at Christmastime), the little odds and ends you %. up alongside the way, little presents for my youngsters' friends, and charity. I did have a "plan" and a catalogue, yet nonetheless ended up spending extra advantageous than I estimated. next three hundred and sixty 5 days, i might desire to decrease all the way down to $800.

I need to set a budget, but I never do. If I see something I think someone will like, I'll buy it, and then I ALWAYS end up over spending. I do it every year, and I tell myself "I'm not doing that this year", but it never works that way.

I always go in with a certain amount in mind for each person on the list. I pretty much stick to it except when it comes to my kids. It's so hard to say no to all the cool stuff I know they would be thrilled with.
To answer the question though in years past we've spent nearly a thousand dollars. But this year I quit working to stay home with the kids so we're looking at about $400.

I had 14 people to shop for and did it for around $500. I start very early and went on Black Friday this year as you can get some crazy good deals and save a ton if you're willing to get up and get through the craziness. I, too, set a price limit for each recipient and stick to it! :)
