It depends on where you are in your cycle but basing it upon your most fertile time the earliest you can tell is five days before your period is due and that isn't trustworthy. You usually need to wait until you've missed your period. That two weeks is the worst of any TTC woman's life. The only advice I have is to try to keep busy. Those days will pass but slowly. The wonderful thing is with Christmas coming up you can probably find lots to keep you occupied. Good luck and hope the time passes quickly. Baby Dust ~* ~* ~*~*

If by "the event" you mean unprotected sex with your partner then it will depend on where you are in your cycle. Remember also that his sperm will be fertile inside you for a couple of days, waiting for you to ovulate. You should wait at least 2 weeks after sex, or until your period is over due. Don't take the test too soon or you may get a false negative result, I took 4 all negative and thought we'd got away with it... Good luck and welcome to the Pudding Club if you are pregnant too!

Preferably a month +. I mean there are pregnancy tests that you can use a few days before your periods expected, but make sure you do the pregnancy test first thing in the morning as your hormone levels are at there highest apparently.

It won't work at all before implantation, which usually ends about 10 days after ovulation. The embryo doesn't produce any HCG before then, so it won't register a positive on a test. They are most accurate by the time you would normally have your period.

you can take a pregnancy test as soon as you miss a period or if you have irregular periods make it 4weeks after your last period, it doesnt matter when you had sex unless its less than a week before a period in which case you will have to wait untill your next period is due to take the test.
