I have a NEO laptop and my touch pad suddenly stopped working. I can't quite figure out the settings on the synaptics pointing device thingy.

I rarely use a mouse for my laptop. I prefer using the touch pad.

Figure out a date that you knew it WAS working, go to System Restore and restore it that day or a day prior to.

I use the synaptic also. Right click on the taskbar icon for the touch pad and select device properties. On the buttons tab select right hand and turn off every thing else On the device settings tab select enable senaptics. Wala it works

LOL!
Last night, my dog Charlie, put her paw on my laptop and apparently hit the control button and another button and it totally screwed up my touchpad! There was no need for a System Restore. All I had to do was restart the computer, which set the touchpad back to the settings I keep it on. So, try restarting your computer first and see if that resets you. good luck to ya! let me know if this worked :)

Do you use a mouse as well. I dont use my touchpad, so I went into tools and changed the settings, maybe your PC has got itself confused, so you may have to re-change the settings.
Good Luck and Merry Christmas

Try looking for a small obstruction (pebble or something) jammed in one of the corners. This happened to me. Otherwise, you're going to have to use one of those tiny USB travel mouses (find at staples).
