The Birth of a Child, the love, pain and
suffering that mother alone can feel...to
raise, nourish and encourage, even to
the point of overlooking your own health and welfare, a mother will sacrifice for her own, and when they are grown, to
start a family of their own, only a mother
secure in her families welfare, secure in her values, can walk away and say I want
to do something else, face the world and
do it. No, there is nothing, USUAL about LIFE...
Thank YOU ALL for sharing YOUR time and experiences with US.

I was born a preemie , 2lbs 14 oz at 27 wks fifty something years ago. My parents weren't given much hope, I was blind, would probably never attend regular school , so why not just instutionalize me and forget about me.
My mum and pop said no way. I attended public school, there wasn't " special education" then. My mum worked with me all through to hs , then told me I was on my own .Didn't fail a grade. Graduated in the middle of my class in hs of 150 students, went on to university did two bachelor degrees one in psychology and sociology and one in education in elementary ed specializing in physical disabilities. I did it in the normal length of time too, with very little accomodation other than having my exams made larger in print so I could read them.
I'm most proud of giving the so called "experts" the finger so to speak and acheiving something they never thought I would.
I live independently, I travel, I now do freelance journalism.
Somebody upstairs likes me and gave me the parents and brought me through school and up to adulthood. I'm very proud I'm still here .

I made it through basic training and also Cryptography school
in the army. And did a stint of active duty. And I became a
mother of two children later after marrying. I wrote a few
short stories that were critqued and received accolades from
the teacher who approved them. When I was still in my 'writing' years.
And one year, I held down four jobs at once. Being an Avon
Lady, typing manuscripts for a playwright, selling studio photography door to door, and being a Camp Fire leader.
The last, being without pay. That was too much stress tho
and I felt I was headed for a breakdown. So I turned the
Camp Fire leader job over to my assistant, and quit the other
jobs as well. And I took time off and cleared the cobwebs.
It was the wisest decision I ever made.

The usual having children (2) and being a Granny Nanny to my 3 granddaughters. Making a difference in their lives for a brief time anyway. Learning how to control diabetes. My biggest accomplishment is learning to adapt to life around me. That means not having to have it all my way and to be able to accept others ideas and actions.

Raising a sweet, caring daughter, giving a good home to several abandoned pets. Providing a comfortable home and life for my daughter and I. Not letting all the bad that's happened to me in life sour me or make me hard hearted.

5 children who have (so far) given me 4 grand children.
This might sound odd-but one of the biggest accomplishments in my life was to get the courage to leave a 30+ year marriage-move to another state with no job or experience and start my entire life over.
