I did the roommate thing twice, didn't work out. Finding a compatible roommate can be almost as hard as finding a good husband. I loved living with my mom when we were living in the US, we had this very tiny apartment with one bedroom and one kingsized bed, and we never fought. We had a great time.

I tried living solo as well, it is fun, and you can do ANYTHING!!!!! You can cook naked, you don't need to close the bathroom door when you go in, you can sing, play your music at any volume, bring people over, not bring people over, have parties when YOU want to, etc. I did the solo thing for 4 months only, though, now I live with my SO. We have not moved in together oficially, but that's because he hasn't brought his stuff over, but we've been spending almost every night together for 8 months now (and I am loving it).

It wasn;t until 5 months ago when my husband and i broke up that i was on my own for the first time in my entire life!
To be honest with u, at first i hated it ... but mostly at night when i went to sleep.
I love being on my own, its so much easier.... and here are a few reasons i enjoy being on my own.... i only have to clean up after myself so my place stays clean all the time, when i go to get something its always there, i can watch whatever i want on tv, if i don't feel like cooking then i don't .... just stupid things like that...
but i will also say that living alone does sometimes get lonley... and sometimes its nice to have the company, but when i start to feel like that i call over or go see a friend!

Sometimes living alone can be fun.. You can do whatever you want w/o ppl ever getting annoyed or disagree with it... but then, living alone can sometimes be lonely.. Likewise, staying with a roomate or family can also be fun and you're never alone.. So i'll say 50/50

As a widow, I have no choice. My only child lives 6,000 miles away. I do like the freedom of eating when I'm hungry and sleeping when I'm tired...but in spite of a loving family and friends and good neighbors...it gets very, very lonely at times.Good luck and Merry Christmas

If I was single, I would live alone. It's the only way to be single.

If one can afford to live alone, that is the best.
