In my league semi-finals, my opponent is DONE. And I am beating him by 0.92 points. I have Chester Taylor left to play on my roster. Would you bench Chester Taylor, and hope their is no 'stat corrections' for his team later in the week, or just play Chester Taylor and pray he doesn't fumble (-2.0pts) and get hurt early in the game.

It sucks when you have already technically won the week, and still have to make a decision about something!!

Play Him!!!

Taylor is above average with regard to fumbles lost. He has played a total of 88 professional games and only fumbled 16 times. Only 11 of those fumbles have been lost.

He has not fumbled in almost a month. He lost one against Oakland in November. He has carried 136 times this year and only lost 2 fumbles. His current streak is at least 53 straight carries without a fumble.

Adrian Peterson will likely see most of the load and be the everydown sort of back. Taylor will be in on 3rd down and in typically pass oriented situations. He is a much better pass protector than Peterson, and the Vikings will want to protect Jackson.

Taylor will be featured in a couple of series and will get some touches during that time in addition to his 3rd down work.

A few other factors to figure in. In 2006 the Bears were great at causing turnovers. Despite Grossman being a turnover machine in 2006, their aggressive defense finished the season with a +8 Giveaway/Takeaway ratio. Pretty good. they got 8 more turnovers than Grossman and the offense generated.

This year the turnovers on the offensive side are way down and the defense has only generated a -6 Giveaway/Takeaway ratio. The defense is being generous with both points, yards, and turnovers (the Bears aren't causing any turnovers, and their record reflects that)

Next, the Bears D is way banged up. According to nfl.com they have made 4 moves at Denfensive Tackle in the last calendar week. These moves aren't just to shore up depth. They are going to play these guys tonight. These newly activated DT's will get blown off the ball by All-pros and Future Hall of Famers on the MN O-line like Steve Hutchins. When DTs get blown off the ball, linebackers can't flow to the ball and make tackles or cause fumbles. MN is going to run all over these guys tonight.

Finally, when stat corrrections do happen they often happen after the winner of a fantasy contest is decided and rarely impact actual contests. I know it does happen. It has happened to me, but it is the exception not the rule.

I would play Taylor. He doesn't fumble. He will not be featured a ton and won't get pulled on every play. He will make a positive contribution. The Bears aren't taking the ball away from anyone. The Bears are really banged up at DT, and those injuries compromise the entire Defenses' ability to stop the run and generate turnovers, and corrections rarely impact the outcome of fantasy games.

Good Luck and Congrats on your playoff victory!

Wow. Thats a great question.

I think I'd let it go ahead and play out. (Play Taylor) Mabye get 1 or 2 more points as a buffer.

Has there been many stat corrections in your league?

We play in Fox Sports and I cant remember one time there has been a score change.

Tough call man. Good luck.

I would double check his score to eliminate any posiible stat corrections. If his score is correct, bench taylor. That way there is no way to lose points, although i doubt he would lose points in the first place.

thats easy man play him...no way he's gonna fumble first play and get hurt...you can't risk a stat correction beating you....an offensive player getting credited for a tackle after a pick and you lose....

Play him the way they have played and still playing for a playoff spot you have to play him there. I can't see him fumbleing and not making up for it. good luck

LOL this is strange. Id start him just incase of the stat correction. I think the odds would be in your favor if you start him.
