I think for one to truly get what they want or at least a semblance of what they want, a balance of planning, hard work, sponaneity and an understanding that unexpected things happen is required. You can make life lean towards what you want but there are too manyvariables for any guarantees.

The answer to this question depends upon one's beliefs. For example, I make plans for my future while knowing full well that they may not go as intended because God's plan for my life may be different. That is my belief. I ask The Lord for his guidance in everyday life because I am but a simple child in His eyes. As for anyone without such belief, I would say that while making life's plans may be in your best interest, it is futile because you do not control your life. A millionaire could go bankrupt as a result of a decision made in his own best interest because of sheer coincidence. In conclusion, it is best to take life one day at a time. Think slow, take it step by step, and always know that you can do your best but your life is not completely in your control.

No, it's life laughing at you. Life hardly ever turns out the way you planned, considering it to be bad planning, means you are just now realizing that "life" doesn't like to play by anyone else's rules.

Things do not always happen the way we want them. We set goals and often times those goals are changed by the way life goes. We do not plan our life, that's God's job. He is the only one who knows what has happened, is happening and what is to come.
