How would you define Artificial Intelligent such that people can differentiate a dumb un-intelligent technology to a free thinking robot or computer?

True cognitive thought is not yet possible in a computer.

WE have elaborate simulations, which use algorithms to predict and adapt to changing environments. Computers like "Deep Blue" the computer that beat Gary Kasparov at chess use brute force computing power to beat an opponent.

True cognitive thought also learns and adapts, but add innovation, or creative thought.

Here's the key. A computer can play chess. A human can create a whole new kind of game using the same board and pieces.
