For Capello... Will he be known as Sir Fabio (if he brings success) OR will he be left saying... "WHAT A MISTAKA TO MAKA!" if it all goes wrong (Allo, Allo)?
Compared to Italy and Spain, ENGLAND IS A DIFFERENT KETTLE OF FISH! In the space of just 1 week the British press have probably know everything about him - from his shoe size to his former lovers! So no secrets Fabio!
Also I think that, whilst many including myself would have preferred an Englishman, I think that appointing a foreigner should be viewed more as a quick-fix solution than a long term answer.
The FA promised us two things,
1) A world class manager
2) A thorough root and branch investigation into the English coaching set-up
The first objective has clearly been delivered, but we are yet to see results to the latter! If we can't win the world cup with Capello's expertise, then something clearly has to be done at grass roots level! Perhaps a change to the premier league schedule is needed?

I think Capello will be ok. Currently there is no one who is better than him. But I doubt if he could bring any success for England. It's not that he is not good. But because of the English players. To win something you have to have some charecters that English players lacks. Why do you think Germany, Italy won so may European & World Cup trophies.
English people have no patience and they are very demanding. They want instant success. And the situation gets worst because of the English media. I think no other media in the world is as bad as they are. These guys don't respect anything. All they want is business.
Even though Capello may bring some success to England. Because he know what it takes to win trophies.
I can only wish him good luck and hope that he will end the suffer of English fans. Because who knows how long will it takes to have a decent squad like the current one.

I think it will go all wrong, unless he has the following: 1 The full respect and co-operation of his players and the Premiership managers. Capello will be the 'guvnor' so they have to Respect him. Players need to stop bitching to the press when they're dropped, and managers need to free up players for internationals-no more 'sudden injuries' when an England match is due and 'sudden recoveries' when the match is over 2 The press to leave his personal life alone, from what ive read of him he is a family man who cherishes his privacy. We should ALL respect that. Even if he is stumbling out of a club with busty blondes LEAVE HIM ALONE He doesn't have to be popular, he doesn't have to be a wit and charm us by quoting Balzac at press conferences. He just has to get England winning Trophies If he does that, he will be the first Italian knight in the EU!!!

A good coach and European.
To achieve the goal of a top English coach we need an apprenticeship system. Starting from the teenage years and to be taught by the success-full managers in England. There are a lot of people that drop out of soccer at a young age because they do not fit into present systems or through injury.
One does not have to be a great soccer player to manage/coach a team look at the Premiership managers.
The young coaches could then coach/manage young teams and work their way up. This way in about 30 years we might have a world class coach/manager and players. Or are the F.A. like colonel Blimp trust more to luck than judgement.
EVERY THING MUST START AT GRASS ROOTS.
T.Venables, B. Robson would be a start in the instruction process

I think it needed to be done this time because..... this could be the last "Very Good" crop of players we will have for a long time - what with their not being enough Englishmen coming through the ranks..
We need a manager in the Alf Ramsey mold of not letting ANY player think his place is safe and is not scared to drop em.
They Dont need to be mates.... The Players need to do what theyre told - to the letter, and hes the man to tell em.
Hes world class.
I would have liked Harry Redknap, but the FA couldnt get him cos the Police raided his house in front of the worlds press the other day.

If he was not good enough to manage a club ( Real Madrid fired him) why give him a country.
