In America, McDonald's "chips" (we call them fries...) are cooked in 100% vegetable oil with no trans fats.
I'm pretty sure its just potatoes in there. There may be some seasonings/flavorings, but other than that it should just be the potato and the oil.
"Potatoes, vegetable oil (partially hydrogenated soybean oil, natural beef flavor (wheat and milk derivatives)*, citric acid (preservative), dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate (maintain color), dimethylpolysiloxane (antifoaming agent)), salt. Prepared in vegetable oil ((may contain one of the following: Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, partially hydrogenated corn oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness), dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent). *CONTAINS: WHEAT AND MILK (Natural beef flavor contains hydrolyzed wheat and hydrolyzed milk as starting ingredients.)"

First of all it is spelled McDonald's. Second I have never heard of a McDonald's selling chips do you mean French Fries? The oil is not pig's lard. It is cooked in a mixture of vegetable, canola, and soybean oils.

Not anymore in Canada-they are fried in vegetable oil, the same oil that is used for the chicken products. Actually, they were fried in beef lard, not pork lard, before, although it's all bad for you.
