First go to the free credit report web site, you are allowed to have one report per year free. Next go to true-credit.com and register for the 3 credit major reports agency's and report that you suspect ID theft. Once you do this if there is any activity on your credit report you will be e-mailed quickly without waiting a month to receive any activity on your credit report. Also report it to police or sheriff depending if you live in a rual area, get a copy of the police report copy it and send it to all three companies that report your credit. Then the next thing to do is wait, if things start poping up for requests for credit in your name that you did not request report it to the credit agency right away. Then wait most of the hackers that get your information won't use it right away they may wait for a year or so before they use the information. This will give you the most pertection you can get without more information they can't do much unless they get more information. You can lock your credit score and report if you ask the credit beurea right away and that way no one will give you credit without contacting you first. It will cause it to take longer to get credit but it is worth it to protect your credit. I have been thu this it's a pain, if you wait it could take you several years to get it straightened out.

Report it to the proper authorities... Contact the SSA, any creditors you may have, and naturally the police... and anyone else you may think of... That way, if the hacker tries to use that information... it will be flagged.
