One of the most diagnostic symptoms of depression is exactly what you describe: Frequently feeling sad for no apparent reason. Life seems blah...hard to become very interested in much of anything...you might have to push yourself a little harder than normal to get out of bed and get things done...the sad feeling gnaws at you and wears you down, etc.
Is it possibly a seasonal depression, as in Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)? If so, it would have come on as the winter set in, and you experienced less sunlight, gray, possibly wet and cold days etc. Spending some time under a special lamp that simulates naturally light may help with SAD. See www.sunbox.com and related sites for info on these devices.
But if you were feeling this way in the summer then you are experiencing a depression that would not necessarily subside in the spring. In that case, it would be a good idea to seek professional help , including counseling and possibly an antidepressant (to help jump-start a better mood). Also, it can really help to stay physically active, exercise, and maintain normal activities throughout the winter.
Now would be a good time to start taking steps to overcome your depression. Otherwise it could persist for much longer.

No, it's not normal to feel a grey cloud constantly over your head. That sounds like depression -- or maybe the universe is telling you to do something different: find your true calling, explore the world differently, make some changes in your life. Maybe it's a wake up call to change your life!

Of course it's normal, just think about it, we can't be with other persons always all the time: sometimes we have te be alone, with ourselfes, and don't think you're really feeling bad, simply, you are having a time you have to relax and organize your mind, you can listen music to have good time and contrarrest it. Do something you haven't done in a large time... Really, don't worry about, I'm pretty sure you'll be back to normality tomorrow on ir a few days, for this reason, I recommend you that i f you want to be alone try to do something that will cultivate and in other case (being with other persons) you couldnt do. , like reading a book, paint/drawing, etc..Ok Good Luck

The bright aspect of it is the awareness of what is happening.
There is a joyousness, exclusive to our physical body, and so there is a 'low' also. Depression is the word commonly used to denote it, but not quite apt.
Though quite possible, it might take a lot of preparation to 'set-up' the situation, outside initially, till we become skilled, and then to set the inside situation, so as not to really get 'touched' by these low states.

yes, i know exactly what you mean. but, no, it's not normal (even though many people feel this way). it's probably a low level of depression and most people are able to function, just not very happily.
