Closing on a house today, and I need this certified check. The funds are in my checking account, what do I need to bring to the bank?

No such thing. A "certified" check is one of your checks that the bank has verified the funds on and has stamped it as such. An "official" bank check is a check drawn on the bank's own account and paid for by transferring money from your checking account to the bank's. (These used to be referred to as "cashier's checks" but the term seems to have died.) What you probably need is an official bank check.

Just show up with your ID (driver's license) at the teller window in the lobby and tell them the amount and the payee. Some banks do not issue these at drive through windows and other convenience locations. Have it made out to yourself.

Suggestion: get a second one made out to yourself for $1000 and carry it with you to closing. I always do this. If you don't need it, you can deposit it back into your account. However, it can be handy to have if somebody discovers a charge or error and you need a small amount but they won't take a personal check. Then you sign the back over to the title company and they issue you a check for your change.

You go to your bank and ask them for a "certified check" in the amount the closing company told you to make it. It should be made out to you personally. You will sign it over at closing.

Just go to your local bank branch & ask them for a certified check. I would walk in, not the drive through.

Just go to the bank and tell them that you need a bank check. As long as the funds are in your account, they will know what you need. Bring your checkbook to the bank. You will need to write the bank a check. It may cost you a few bucks (less than $5) to do this.
