my point here is that designer labels like Chanel,Gucci,Prada,Versace etc. they sell expensive stuff. It is beautiful and up to date.I bought a Giorgio Armani reading glasses but after 2 years,it broke.Just like the other cheaper glasses i used to wear.It is VERY expensive and i thought it was worth it. Guess i was wrong! But i still love designer stuff. What do you think of buying designer labels?

I think that if you pay more for something you keep it longer and almost cherish it.
Stuff you get cheap you tend to just say oh well.

I think everyone needs a few designer pieces! They look really nice and make you feel good about yourself. I think it's worth buying if you have the money. :)

I have some designer stuff and some non designer stuff and I mix and match it. Like I will wear designer jeans with a nice shirt from Forever 21. Or, I will wear nine west shoes with a very expensive pair of jeans and a top from INC. I dont always buy designer because you can get the same look at a fraction of the price at Forever 21. When I shop, I go there first, then after I go to the high end dept stores. Good luck!

Well, I think the question here has to do with how important YOU think buying designer things are. I have a pair of purple Prada frames (for my glasses) and they eventually broke and trust me, they were not cheap. I love designer stuff too. One of my games (sad, I know) is to go to the very back page of Vogue and cover my fingers all over the price tags of the shoes, or bags or whatever, and then without knowing the price, I ALWAYS choose the most expensive one. I can't afford to buy designer labels right now, but I do like them.

Let me be totally honest here. There are some designer stuff that aren't as well made as they should be. Most of the time, the quality of the stuff you get in Walmart, Target, Forever 21 isn't as good as designer. Big design houses like Chanel, Prada, Fendi, Burberry Prorsum, they have a top quality standard to maintain, and anything that has the slightest mistake gets thrown away, so you can be sure to enjoy their designer clothes/bags/shoes/etc for a very long time. As for sunglasses, i believe that these big design houses don't put as much quality standards to them as they would to their clothes, bags & shoes, so its better to buy from a trusted brand like Ray-bans instead.

I think that if you can afford designer stuff, you should try to invest in a few items that you want to see through you for a long time. For example, a classic Chanel flapbag, is well-known for its expensive price tag but also for its timeless style and its tip-top quality. There is life assurance on the item and you can get it exchanged if the bag gets spoilt due to the product nature. I have known friends who have inherited Chanel flapbags from their grandmothers who had em in the 60s and they are still in very very good condition. This is just one such common example of why it is worth buying designer stuff.

On the other hand, just because something isn't designer does not mean that it is not well-made. Most things that you get tailored made for yourself costs much cheaper than designer prices but fit you better and lasts longer as well.

I think one should shop everywhere to get the best of both worlds. If you want to buy designer but can't afford it, go vintage or thrift shopping.

My personal rule is, spend more on key pieces like jeans, jackets & bags, but scrimp on tops, skirts, dresses (unless a formal or one you know you wanna wear a lot) so you can change your look all the time but your key pieces will see you through a long time and also in some way define your own style as your clothes change.

Don't forget to look around and discover new brands, new upcoming designers, there are loads of mid-range designer labels that are worth investing in for the same high quality as big fashion houses, and of course for the design itself.

I hope my advice made sense and will help you out.

If you find the right designer and you're opting to buy pieces that will always be classic, I think it's worth it. As a student, I don't have the money for designer stuff. As a photography student, I probably never will. However, if I ever did have enough money for designer, I'd only by the classics.

im one of those ppl who fall straight into the designer trap but @ the end of the day its just the same old glasses u bought b4 but with a small difference, the brand name written in tiny writng which makes the glasses worth a fortune. You can buy trendy stuff for cheap as well without the little brand name.

If you are the party type, designer stuff can catch many eyes. Apart from that I dont see any real reason. I got a Gucci sun glass as a gift but I still prefer my old Ray ban!

There are other name brands worth buying that can be more durable. Unfortunately most of the price your paying is just for the designer name.

If you would like them and also have the money on their behalf, go for this. Only purchase them should you really have the cash to hand out. They are not worth entering debt over. Personally, i think D

I always got the impression, unless one is rich and can afford it, that if we have to buy these designer stuff, we have an inferiority complex somewhere. Of course I could be wrong.
