I think it is unfair and disgraceful what footballers (and the managers) earn full stop! I posted a question about this last week and got a lot of agreement, but also a lot of slating from die hard football fans. Rugby is a much better game, much more enjoyable, you get no problems like fights and hooligans at rugby matches, the money isnt so much of an issue in rugby! They play a game that they enjoy and get paid for it, why should football be any different? Its bloody disgusting if you ask me!
I say pay a few quid more to people who put their lives on the line everyday and who save peoples lives. They are far more deserving than football players and managers!

I don't think that it's unfair that football players earn more than rugby players. Sure, football players may need a few fewer skills than rugby players, but, do you see rugby on television much? It seems to me that many people find football more entertaining to watch (not to mention play), and I'm pretty sure the entertainment determines salaries. Football is on television a lot, and a lot of people go to see the games, so there is more money coming in to pay the team, the coach, the manager, etc. Salaries are mainly determined by the amount of entertainment and how many people watch it, so, I don't think it's unfair that rugby players are paid less than football players.

The amount that footballers earn is crazy! I think all sports should have a similar figure. I understand where you are coming from as rugby is a very tough sport and they have more injuries etc. it's because football is more popular x

The basic law of economics is supply and demand. Soccer players are in much greater demand than rugby players are, so they get paid more. Fairness has little to nothing to do with economics.

Earning more is one thing but earning a hundred times more is quite another. It's ridiculous that some premiership footballers earn more in a DAY than some nurses earn in a YEAR.

Football is for people that are not tough enough to play rugby.
If you kick them in the shin, they scream and roll around on the ground like they've been shot. God forbid they shoul score, they act like it's never been done before. I've got no use for the lot of them.
Rugby partys are better, too. I bet it's tea and bisquits for the footballers.

Players get paid based on how well their sport is doing. Soccer just happens to be a billion times more popular, and so the leagues have more money to throw around. A travesty, I know.
