Peace.

I think alot of the social norms are a good thing.

For example, talking in movie theaters. You can do it but society frowns upon it and for good reason.

There are alot of good examples where people should conform to society's idea of how someone should behave.

Yes, but I am much too strong-willed! My ex tried to mold me into what he thought I should be. He even had the career picked out that he thought I should have! My husband is awesome. He accepts me for me, even the crazy stuff. : )

Yes, with an emphasis on the word "tried". I have no idea what those people are now doing, nor do I really care.

Anyone?
Every person I met in my life tried to change me.

That's why I married the only man who did not try to change my soul, body, mind, work, behaviour etc etc

You should be free to live according to your own principles and ideals. Sometimes people will think their ideas or beliefs are better. My sister quit the Catholic Church and had been subtly trying to evangelize her new denomination to us. I was happy with the Catholic Church and there was nothing she could have done to switch me over.

I'm actually GRATEFUL for it, because I used to bawl at the drop of a hat. I used to be very needy and clingy(I still get clingy sometimes, but hey, we all need affection.)
Because of my fiance, I am much more independent, and I've grown up quite a bit, emotionally.

We shouldn't conform to someone else's ideas becasue then you aren't being yourself.I Hate when people aren't being them or they being something to fit in.Why not stand out and be who you wanna be don't be something you don't wanna be.
