Just a part of globalization. Don't take it personally. You might as well cancel all your credit cards, because things are not likely to change soon for your credit card company nor for any other company. More and more companies will be offering the "English" option.

I hate all automated phone systems equally. What's the big deal?

ETA--Just curious, since you don't specifiy--I live in an area of the US where a version of French is spoken because it's been part of the culture for longer than English has been. Would that bother you, or is your objection to Spanish?

i wonder why that is... shouldn't it be press 1 if to continue in spanish? english is our nations language. always has been and always will be
