I'd rather not risk it. the last thing we need is a Muslim in office. no one can know for sure if he is sincere in his claims, so i will be casting my vote else where.

I am like Huckabee in that sense, I believe anyone when they say they are a Christian, even Romney.

A better question is for them to explain how their sense of themselves in their religion influences them in life (or leadership).

JFK convinced a lot of intelligent people that he supported "separation of Church and State a b s o l u t e l y".
They believed him.
They voted for him.

I'm not so sure we have many intelligent people left in this country. But of course, I believe Obama when he says he's a Christian. I would doubt him if he said "I am Jewish" instead. I would demand some explanation of something like that.

I don't doubt Lieberman if he says "I am Jewish."

You are wrong. Obama is a Christian. And only the racists and bigots are concerned about that. Millions of Americans are Muslim. Thisis a country with freedomof religion. And if the racists and bigots don't like it, they should give up their American citizenship and leave. Our fellow citizens who are Muslim are far better citizens--at least they have some respect for our Constitutional freedoms.

Actually I don't really care what religion any candidate is.

It's how they act that bothers me about some. Like Romney repeatedly saying that you have to believe in God to lead a moral life. That bothers me a lot more than whether someone is Mormon, Christian, Jewish, Muslim or whatever.

Personally, I don't believe Obama's claim to be a Christian as truth. In fact, he is a politician and all politicians lie!

I've read where his father and step father are Muslim. Since he claims to be a Christian it is good for him that he lives in the United States because in other nations of the world, Muslims execute anyone who leaves the Islamic teachings of Muhammed for Jesus Christ.

As much as I believe anyone who says they have a personal relationship with a figment of their imagination.

I believe that Bush is a fascist, not a Christian.

Do you have a problem with Obama because he came to his faith in a figment of his imagination of his own free will, as an adult, instead of being properly brainwashed from his first conscious moment?

Sure I do. But then again the word as so many meanings nowadays.

I think he has an intelligent , non fire and brimstone approach to his faith and that's more welcome than the right wing evangelicals.

The hypocrisy of calling your self a liberal christian is absurd.
You can not support the secular movement and be a good christian . It's imposable. No matter how a organized faith changes it's "rules" values, God never does. Lucky for them, Jesus die for our sins and offers forgiveness and salvation for those that come short of the lord. All we have to do is accept him into our lives and ask his forgiveness.
I doubt he has but pray he will.

No! He was raised a Muslim. I neither believe nor trust him. BUT... I'd rather see him president than Hillary, but then I'm a Republican so I will be voting for neither of them.
