It baffled me at first but after understanding why he did it I thought it was awesome!

Of course it is, it assures that you don't have to give Dallas the ball. Romo and Owens are too talented to stay quiet for too long, and they have a flare for the dramatic. After losing their last three games on last second field goals and heroics Philly needed more than just a moral victory, they needed the actual W, this was the only was they could guarantee it. By the way, you're welcome Green Bay.

Very smart. If you kick the field goal, you give the Cowboys a chance to have the ball. Anything can happen with 2 minutes to go. They could score and get the onsides kick. By dropping down on the 1 yd line, Westbrook unselfishly guaranteed the win and the Cowboys could do nothing about it.

Yes it was smart. If you watch the replay carefully, you'll notice that once he got the first down, the Cowboys weren't really trying to tackle him.
The Cowboys wanted him to score, so they could get the ball back. It was the only chance the Cowboys had. By falling on the one, Westbrook denied the Cowboys any opportunity for a miracle comeback like they did against Buffalo.

No.

Offensive Tackle John Runyan who told him to do so was the one who understood the situation and came up with the solution. He should get the credit for being clever.

Westbrook even said in his post game press conference that he didn't want to do it at first because he didn't understand what it would accomplish.

It was one of the best plays I've seen in a long while!

That was the smartest and least selfish play in the NFL this season bar none. Instead of forcing the Eagles defense onto the field for one or two more series he assured that the Cowboys had no chance to win the game. He was the only person in America who understood the situation well enough to realize that by not scoring the Eagles couldn't lose.

Awesome play.

where the is a football moron!!!! you idoit westbrook going down on the 1 when dallas could not stop the clock sealled the win. if westbrook scored yes dallas would be down by 11 with 2:10 to go. highly unlikely but the cowboys would still be alive. what if they got the ball back and scored a quick td they would have an onside kick . what westbrook did was smart

********** oh yeah dallas handled the bears at chicago 34-10 why couldn't green bay beat them 2 weeks later at GB

*********** oh yeah...Dallas handled Green bay by 10 pts

It was a very good heads-up play. Most players are too greedy to give up a TD like that. He ensured that Dallas couldn't score and then recover an onside kick and have a chance to win.

It was brilliant. It assured victory since the Cowgirls had no timeouts. It made the last two minutes a kneel down situation and stopped any chance of a score and then onside kick and all the crap that goes with that situation. GREAT JOB BRIAN WESTBROOK!!!

Amazing how much whining goes on in this forum by the Cowgirl fans. Your team stunk up the joint yesterday...deal with it!!

Yup, that was smart...the Eagles didn't want to see a repeat of what happened during the infamous monday night meltdown between the Bills and Cowboys.
