I mean in a state that has cameras everywhere already in the casinos and what not! I think that these people are over reacting about it. Like as if they are going to get caught cheating or with someone in their car that is not supposed to be. What do you think?

I mean I am all for it because this city I live in has the worst of worst insurance rates of the whole state and maybe even country. Everything is triple!

If you're speeding or running red lights then you should really be punished in some way. As long as we have 'dumb' cameras that are set up to only detect the event (i.e. speeding) that they are put there for then I have no problem.

The city of Bath in England have a camera system that recognises number plates and plots and records the whereabouts of motorists who are not breaking the law - now that is an invasion of privacy.

Speeding and red light cameras are not an invasion of privacy. The police can't be everywhere at the same time to protect you, or God forbid, your parents or children from being injured by someone who speeds or runs traffic lights just because the cops aren't there to stop them.

C. It's an invasion of privacy but justified to improve public safety.

I think that cameras that are paid for with public tax dollars and that are aimed/focused on public property is a clear violation of the public trust in the event that the photos are used in a biased way against only certain individuals. That is to say, in a discriminatory fashion. Otherwise, unfortunately in my opinion, they are legal and probably constitutional.

Not really, if you're out in public you are aware that you may be being watched anyway. If they started putting cameras in homes, that would be invasion of privacy.

The cameras you spoke of keep idiots from shooting through a red light and causing an accident, if you find that too confining, tough.

If you're not doing anything wrong, you shouldn't worry about the cameras. It's not like they're allowed to put you on television without permission, so I don't get the issue. Live in fear you sneaky, sneaky man lol.
