Yesterday, me and my husband came home and we had something stolen from outside our door. We live in an apartment and my husband had expensive winter boots that he uses for work. We have never had this happen before. We called the police and made a report. I pretty much know who did it, but of course can't prove it. I ended up taking all of my X-mas decorations off the door and left a note in return:

“Merry Christmas. We did have nice decorations on the door for all to see, but do to some low-life thief, they were taken down. But hey, have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

What are your thoughts and what would you have done different? Just curious.

The person who stole your husband expensive winter boots is in dire need of boots . Just remember now. Put things in a very safe place. Be carefull now. Just think that those boots will help the culprit .

I would put up my decorations again and put something else outside of similar value to the boots. Maybe even glue it or attach it to the floor. Then, I'd place a camera on the peephole to my door and record who takes it, that way I have proof as to who took it.
Is there some way you can identify the boots? Because if they were stolen, whoever stole it will eventually wear it (unless they sell it). Make sure you checked with your lost and found section. You never know, they might 'return' them.

Because those people don't work hard like most of us do. I don't know what I would have done. Merry Christmas. 2D

I would not have left expensive boots outside my apartment - I think its your own fault.

It's a sign of our times....atheists abound, their children aren't sent to Sunday School to learn "Thou shalt not steal."
