I believe you mean to ask about the PEAFOWLS which is commonly called PEACOCKS. Peacock actually refer to male peafowl and they do not lay eggs.

The female peafowl is specifically called PEAHENS. They usually do not lay eggs during their first year and will lay 2 to 6 eggs during the 2nd and3rd years. They may lay 5 to 9 eggs each year by the 4th year . If eggs are removed from the nest as they are laid, the mature (four years or older) peahen may lay a second and even a third clutch of eggs and the peahen could lay eggs more than one peahen can incubate. A peahen can incubate up to 10 eggs.

Peacocks have been relieved of this painful event. Peahens are carrying out this task now a days and they lay about 730 to 1400 eggs in a year.
