I believe Robins are very teritorial and will fight to the death - I have at least two, maybe three who turn up in my garden (presumably they have carved it up among themselves).

All my birdfeeders are in one place - is this going to cause conflict?

Apparently Robbins from the UK are somewhat different than the ones in the US. Their feeding habits are quite the same. If I were you I would try and put some space between the feeders simply because of the sunflower hearts, that way allowing all to share in the bounty and keeping hostilities to a minimum. lol! The Robins do not tolerate some other species:

They fight the Blue **** and Coal **** for sunflower hearts - which the Robins get from the feeders either by perching precariously on it or by hovering like a hummingbird.

They chase the Dunnocks out of the garden, as these have a similar diet to themselves.

When I first put my feeder up I did notice that the robin would chase away other birds, even if the robin didn't want to actually eat anything at that given moment. I didn't know why this happened, so you've taught me about the territorial aspect.

But what happened for me is that very soon it all settled down, and now all the birds seem to come and go as they please, sometimes in particular groupings. "My" birds are: a robin, several blue ****, a pair of blackbirds, a pigeon, and also a cheeky squirrel!

So hopefully you'll be okay with all your feeders in one area as the birds seem to sort things out amongst themselves after some initial squabbling.

we just hang a few of them fat balls on the branches of the trees in our garden robins and all the other birds seem to get along with each other and all get a good feed at the same time...ps dont forget that at this time of year make sure that bird baths and water containers do not freeze up so they can get a drink.

I have many robins and they all like fatballs hung in the trees. I find the blackbirds love dry cat bicuits. Spread the feeding positions about so all get a turn.

they will bicker a lot and some feathers may fly but as the weather gets colder they should all get a share.
