Of course not. Most of the popular music is actually against the current regime, not for it. Most of the music industry consists of Democrats (the leading opposition party) and the lyrics are against the agenda of the ruling Republican party. Green Day's lyrics are even critical of the War on Terrorism (for example, their song "Wake me up when September ends"), so I don't think the government has anything to do with the music industry.

Now, if the songs were all repeating talking points from Fox News, maybe there would be some basis to this accusation, but the music is very much anti-regime in nature, so it definitely isn't controlled by the government.

No. The Government is rigged by Big Business--which includes the Music Industry. That's why the Government is helping the Music Industry, through regulations and help with their Lawsuits to suppress internet radio and peer-to-peer transfer sites--both of which provide a more level playing field for Independent Bands than the Industry feels comfortable competing on.

How's that for a run on sentence?

That allows them to produce Schlock and overcharge for it. Because they have, with the help of Government, been able to squeeze out the only real competition.

I suppose anything is possible, but why would the government be interested in something like this? There are so many other things to waste their time and money on that I can't see the music industry being one of them. Unless the government is getting their pockets lined from them too!
