All I remember is in what I believe was the first episode, a man and woman was trapped in a car with a large piece of concrete on it. The man had to make the decision for the firemen to lift the debris off of him, killing him, in order to save the woman's life. They played music over the PA system of one of the firetrucks as they lifted it with airbags. I remember crying heavily watching this show. If you know what it is please help.

Rescue Me is too new. This probably started in the late 90's early 00's.

After about two hours of searching and investigating I know the answer myself. I will see if anyone else can come up with it. Here are your hints. This was the fourth, not the first, episode of only 8 episodes before the show was cancelled. It was not 3rd watch or rescue me.

The only firefighter themed show I know of is Rescue Me on FX, starring Dennis Leary. I've watched a couple of times, pretty intense.
Tyler Perry House Pain has firefighter, but thats a comedy and this sounds deadly serious.
