A bench holds two or more people. A bench is usually a hard surfaced sparely built structure more likely but not always found out doors. (The same general structure indoors is a sofa or love seat and is usually softly upholstered.)
There are long benches built just like wide Windsor Chairs

but most benches have square ends and have the same profile all their length, so there is no specific seating place marked out. Benches may be steel, cast iron, wood, concrete, plastic.
