Neo-con is the new updated conservative theory....it started after the fall of soviet-union or i should say that it became 'neo' after the fall of soviet-union.....during soviet-union there were two major player...the US and the Russians but after the fall of soviet-union united states became a super power. neo-con's theory is at the core of this situation. they want to maintain/achieve global hegemony so no one can compete with the US. most liberals think that its an evil theory because its too aggressive but they fail to understand that if US backs down or reduces its status by giving away power to other countries then their always be another country to replace soviet-union......hence it is vital for neo-con's to achieve and maintain the global hegemony so no one can ever challenge the US. currently US only lacks the regional hegemony in Africa....before the war in Iraq, US was not the hegemon in middle east but now regardless of the out come of the war in Iraq....US has the hegemony in middle east. Next stop is africa to have total global hegemony. with it, no other nation like china can challenge US and its influence over the world for a long long time.

Neo-conservatism is in simple terms a re-vitalization flow with lots of an analogous values as 'old' conservatism. you could hint it lower back to the neo-classicism of the Reagan era, or all the some time past to the election of Jimmy Carter by skill of politicized Christian conservative democrats, in case you attempt not hassle-free adequate. between the main alterations is that neo-conservatism is extra interventionist and activist than classic conservatism - making it extremely not that 'conservative' interior the common experience, extra like a sparkling sort of liberalism headed in an extremely diverse direction. one thank you to verify it extremely is that this. classic conservatism is incredibly little extra effective than resistance to alter. From the 30s contained in direction of the 60s there became into countless political, financial and social exchange. those transformations became solidified and everyday, and classic conservatives at present would be people who do not likely decide on the two any extra exchange (be it characterised as 'progression' or 'backsliding'). Many self-pointed out liberals and moderates are, in certainty, such conservatives. Neo-conservatives decide directly to circulate lower back to before values in some techniques, extremely with regard to the honour accorded faith. some are attaining all the some time past to the nineteenth century for thier fashions of society (in simple terms as modern-day liberals do while they evoke the ideals of socialism). in addition they decide directly to forge incredibly exchange. the belief of usa as an interventionist international potential dedicated to it incredibly is very own supremacy is very new, case in point.

If you read a political science text book, you will not find "Neo-Con" in it. You will also be surprised to find that those defined by the American media as conservatives, are really the Liberals and those defined as Liberals are really neo-marxists. The media defines the world for so many of us and for some reason, the media (print, television, radio and Internet) have gotten it all wrong. I think it must be a conspiracy because university educated journalists can't be that stupid.
I think they have a department of political science misinterpretation at the big media companies. They find new ways to misuse political science terms, "middle class" is a new one they've managed to screw up.
If you are confused, it is like this, the Republicans are Liberal by Text Book definition. The Democrats are Neo-Marxists.
One has to be an entrepreneur to be middle class, a high paid Union worker does not fit the definition of middle class.

neo means new, so neo-conservatism refers to the new coservatism - essentially the Reagan era conservatism that involved active intervention in foreign policy, social conservatism and laissez faire economics at home.

neo-conservatism is an ideology based on the belief that the United States should utilize it's military to advance it's domestic agenda . . . this is not necessarily a bad idea, but like all ideas can go terribly wrong when interpreted by people (or a person) with less than good intentions. Neo-conservatives are the inventors of "pre-emptive (sp?) war and 1% doctrine. Again, not bad ideas, just very scary in the wrong hands. Contrary to popular belief, true neo-conservatives do not embrace social conservatives value . . . they may be social conservatives, but being a neo-conservative has nothing to do with religion. Neo-conservatives have teemed up with the "holy land" crew to advance middle-east agenda . . .

Neoconservatives usually end up increasing the size and power of the government, along with spending. While traditional conservatives believe in a smaller, efficient government focusing more on individual states rights over a strong federal gov. Neocons are former democrats that switched to the republican party back in the 50's. They also tend to favor welfare. On foreign policy, they believe in spreading democracy to other impoverished nations. They also tend to be globalists. The only thing they really share in common with traditional conservatives, is social issues like opposing gay marriage and abortion, and having a strong cutting edge military.
Both Bush presidents are considered neoconservatives. Also known as Rockefellar Republicans, Liberal Republicans, Moderate Republicans or RINO's (Republicans In Name Only).

What Boss H said.
To make a long story short, Conservatives lean right, neoconservatives are ultra-conservatives that denounce anything liberal, unless it helps them obtain power.
