I know he was tortured, but I've never heard any details. I'm not sick, just curious.

Sen McCain broke both his upper arms when he ejected from his aircraft over Hanoi.

The North Vietnamese not only never properly set his arms, but would periodically would beat him, armlock and full Nelson him, causing the broken bones to to rip up flesh and muscle and nerves.

This over a period of 5 years.

To this day the Senator can not raise his arms much above his shoulders; should he become President, it will be impossible for him to properly return the salutes he is given.

I think our soldiers sailors airmen and Marines will understand.
