The only benefit that society can possibly gain from wisdom, is a greater chance of survival. That which helps society survive, benefits society. In the long run it has yet to be shown whether wisdom will help society survive, or ultimately destroy it. My own personal wisdom benefits society only to the extent that they choose to avail themselves of it.

Wisdom exclusively for one's OWN benefit is not wisdom....
The wisdom I have gained at least helps me not to repeat my own mistakes endlessly, so society is not always having to clean up after me....
Perhaps others may benefit too if they are able to make use of what I tell them, although in my experience one often has to live through a situation to understand it.
Wisdom helps to give life meaning too, since if life consists only of people endlessly repeating the same mistakes and suffering the same pain, then surely life has no meaning?

Wisdom being the accumulation of knowledge and experience accuired over time, primarily through social interaction and/or observance of a particular subject matter; hence the benefit of society to us as is our wisdom to society.

any "wisdom" I gain is for MY benefit, it is why I am here. We are all here to gain wisdom and knowledge and grow.
Frankly, I think benefitting society is a thankless and fruitless endeavor.
