ok, I realize this is a pretty unorthodox request for a baby name. But my son's name is Samuel Barrett, Barrett as in the Barrett M-82 .50 Calibre Rifle (yes, we're an army family, big surprise, my husband is a sniper). Anyway, I'd like to continue the "gun middle name" for my daughter but can't think of anything relatively femenine. The first name is going to be either Mia, Kaylen, Katrina, or Valerie (haven't quite decided on that one either). Any real suggestions would be great, thank you!

lindalou, I'm sorry you feel that way about a tool used by the strong and courageous to protect the lives of the innocent. All qualities I would like to bestow to my child.
If guns kill people, then pencils cause misspelled words.

Name her after the Ithaca 37 pump action shotgun. They were used during the Vietnam war. Or maybe after the Sterling L2a3 Also used in Vietnam by Australian and New Zealand forces. Those would make good middle names. Ithaca or Sterling. This one is a little strange but what about Arisaka after the bolt action rifle. Or maybe Besa after the Besa mk 3 Great Britain used in world war 2.

GUNS
Beretta (Italian firearms)
Pistol (a girl on Project Runway goes by Kit Pistol. I think that makes a cool sounding name)
OTHER WEAPONS
Pantera (a 3-bladed weapon kind of like Wolverine; also the name of a Metal band)
Katana (a Japanese sword)
you could try Kaylen Beretta, Mia Pistol, Katrina Pantera or Valerie Katana.
I like Mia Pistol.

I like Mia or Valerie the best, what about something obvious like Shooter. Or even Sabre. Or Rifle. I don't know, I sort of like Rifle. If you also like video games, you could try 'Yuna', she was a the main character of FFX - she was a shooter. It's similar but feminine. Shrug.

Hmmm....gun names all sound pretty masculine. Maybe a different kind of weapon? Like Sabre, Scimitar, or Katana, all kinds of swords?

if its a boy...Les Baer...pronounced like bear. It's a .45 caliber. I shot one and it's an accurate, straight shooter. Like a person should be. A girl I like Benelli, like the shotgun. Good luck.
