first pill pack of the pill and when the pill starts working?

i just started the first pill pack last month. and i am on my second pill pack. i had sex while on the white pills after my period ended. i then had a gap of one day before starting my second pill pack. how safe am i? we always have sex with a condom that has a spermicide. how safe am i and what advise do u have for me.
