EDIT- SINATRA, you may want to double check the almanac they have him listed with 3055.

Cap Anson was the first player to join / start the 3,000 Hits Club. During the 1887 season bases on balls were counted as hits and Anson walked sixty times. In an effort to "clean up history" a committee changed the rules of that particular season (and others) thus revoking Anson's membership. The rules were restored to their original format in 2001 and Anson is once again a member of the club he started.

According to the baseball almanac - at least

I know Biggio was the 26th man to hit 3,000 hits.

Craig Biggio, Ty Cobb, Pete Rose, Tony Gwynn, Al Kaline, Cal Ripken, Rickey Henderson, Honus Wagner, Lou Brock, Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, Stan Musial, Willie Mays, Rafael Palmeiro, Tris Speaker, Paul Molitor, Wade Boggs, George Brett, Eddie Murray, Robin Yount, Rod Carew.

21 out of 26 isn't bad. I don't remember the other 5 guys.

Edit - Anson got 3,000 hits? I've looked at his stats before and it was marked just below 3000 (somewhere in the 2,990's area). According to baseball almanac, at least.

Without looking it up...

Rose, Cobb, Aaron, Musial, Yaz, Speaker, Wagner, Anson, Collins, Mays, Clemente, Carew, Brock, Winfield, Murray, Molitor, Rickey, Kaline, Boggs, Gwynn, Ripken, Yount, Brett, Biggio. That's 24, so I'm probably missing two or three.

Back in a minute with a final, non-disclosing edit.

Yep, I missed three of 'em. Numbers 13, 16, and 24 on this list: http://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/H_career.shtml

A bit surprisingly, there's only one Japanese player that ever reached 3,000 hits - Isao Harimoto. Don't recall his exact total, though.
