No. 1

2n + 3n + 7 = - 41
(Add the two pronumerals)
5n + 7= - 41
(Take 7 away on both sides. Leave the pronumeral.)
5n + (7 - 7) = (- 41 - 7)
5n = -48
(Divide each by 5)
5n = -48
----- -------
5 5
n = -9.6

2) Illegal Operation.

3) 2z + 9.75 - 7z = -5.15
(Reorder numbers on LHS so that the pronumerals are together. Carry the signs from the LHS of the number. 2z stays as is).
2z - 7z + 9.75 = -5.15
(Take 7z away from 2z)
-5z + 9.75 = -5.15
(Take 9.75 away on both sides. Leave the pronumeral.)
-5z + (9.75 - 9.75) = (-5.15 - 9.75)
-5z = -14.9
(Divide both sides by 5)
-5z = -14.9
------ --------
5 5
-z = -2.98

Just a note to those who attempt to answer the problem. Try and show the person how to do it instead of saying Do your own homework. It's better than just giving the direct answers, and saying do your own homework. Thank you.

Use a Calculator.

Asking people online will not make it any easier on the test.

Dave here thinks, -41 minus 7 is 34, when its -48.

Good luck
