this building has been empty for several years. i rented it out a couple monhs ago have had no problems.
but with the heat running the last few weeks the smell is getting stronger. there is no kitchen IT IS NOT ONIONS
i can not find the sourse of the smell.
what can it be?
how do i get rid of it?
how do i keep it from comming back?

and how is the gas heat smelling like onions?

before renting out this building
we put in new air filters so i do not think that could be it. what else could it be?

what type of heat are you using, it could be fumes from a gas heater, which is not good.

call your gas company and have them check your lines gas usually smells like rotten eggs you may just need a new air filter but it doesn't hurt to be safe since it hasn't been used in awhile as for getting rid of the smell put boxes of baking soda out until you find the problem and can deal with it directly.

Have your heating vents cleaned. Could be a build up of some nasty stuff. Call a professional to clean them out.
