If you love to shop Italy is by far the best place to go. You'll find an incredible array of great fashion at affordable prices. Italy still takes the lead in setting fashion trends for the rest of the world thanks to their bold creativity, excellent craftsmanship and great taste. And it's not just about personal adornment, there are lots of beautiful things for the home, creatively-designed equipment and tools, artisitic furniture, food ..... Best region to shop for fashion is the northwest (from Milan to Florence) and for objets d'art north east (Veneto, Bologna, Ravenna).
Don't forget that Italy is also the most compact touristic country on earth. There's so much to see it's mind-blowing and it's easy to get to anywhere. Try to go sometime between April and August.

Try Belgium. Lots of places to go, things to see and do. And there's a top notch railway system that runs on time to the minute. English is almost universally spoken. The currency is the euro. It's a great place with wonderfully warm and welcoming people.
BTW, now is not a very good time for shopping in Europe because the dollar's dropped in value over the euro. Well, at least shop wisely.

Sweden! I loved going there, Stockholm has a lot of great shopping places, and the culture is so interesting. I had never been to a Scandinavian country before, and I loved it! Sweden was such a progressive country, plus, it's a great alternative to the standard France or Italy or Spain...but they're great too!

There are many interesting countries, however I would commend Poland.
There are lots of things to see.
You have mountains to the souths, lakes to the north-east, see to the north, beautiful cities (Cracow, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Zakopane, Gdansk, Malbork).
As I said, there are many places to see and it is not as expensive as the rest of the continent.
Have a nice holiday,
Kempos

Slovenia would be my choice: The euro is in use there, it's much cheaper than Italy, cosy, relatively clean, not too crowded, etc.
